FP Presents

Actor Workshop with Casting Director Merri Sugarman
April 28-May 1st.

COMING IN LATE APRIL/ MAY - a 3 day intensified workshop with Los Angeles Casting Director Merri Sugarman. Formerly a New York actress (LES MISERABLES, ASPECTS OF LOVE) and voice-over artist, Merri migrated west nine years ago where she quickly made a name for herself at Liberman/Hirschfeld, then Liberman/Patton Casting where she worked on such shows as "NewsRadio", "The Larry Sanders Show" and the movie "Playing By Heart", starring Sean Connery and Angelina Jolie.

In 2000, Merri went to DreamWorks where she was the executive in charge of all TV pilots and series - including "Spin City", "Undeclared" and the critically acclaimed "The Job" starring Denis Leary. When ABC came calling a year later, Merri became the Director of Casting for Dramas and Movies, overseeing the casting of such series as "Alias", "NYPD Blue", "Once & Again" and "The Practice" as well as the 'made for television movies' "Gilda Radner - It's Always Something", and "The Music Man", starring Matthew Broderick and Kristen Chenoweth to name a few.

In a Workshop that will focus on 'the business of the business' - classes will include coachings on cold readings, info. on agents, managers and casting directors and the real 'skinny' on pilot season and mock auditions. Most importantly, this is a seminar that gives actors a frank, honest, 'meat and bones' overview of what to expect in the professional arena. Actors are guaranteed a safe, non-threatening atmosphere in which to work, in the hopes they will leave with gained knowledge and confidence that will prove invaluable in the professional world of performing.
