Randy Ser is an alumnus of The Florida State University School
of Theatre, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in acting
in 1975 and a Master of Fine Arts degree in directing magna cum
laude in 1977. While a student at Florida State, Mr. Ser portrayed
the role of Squire Cribbs in the mainstage production of THE DRUNKARD,
directed by Dean Gil Lazier and directed a mainstage production
of SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER.
For the past eighteen years, Mr. Ser has lived in Los Angles
and worked on over fifteen feature films, as well as many television
productions and commercials.
As a member of the Directors Guild of America, he has directed
in-house productions for Paramount Pictures and served as the
second unit director for the pilot episode of NBCs dramatic
series AGAINST THE GRAIN and for a season of the Universal Television/UPN
series THE BURNING ZONE.
As a production designer, Mr. Ser has been active with major
studios such as Disney, Universal, and Warner Brothers. Some
of his most prominent work can be seen in the feature films
THE MIGHTY DUCKS, WILD HEARTS CANT BE BROKEN, and DARKMAN.
He is currently the production designer for the CBS series MARTIAL
LAW.
In 1988, Mr. Ser was awarded both The Society of Motion Picture
and Television Art Directors Excellence in Production Design
Award and The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Emmy Award
for his production design of The Wonderful World of Disneys
presentation of RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEINS CINDERELLA.
