The Florida Project membership is comprised of students, alumni and supporters
from Florida State University, The Asolo Conservatory and the Burt Reynolds
Institute for Theatre Training.
Currently, there are 250 professionals in The Florida Project, most
of whom live
in the New York metropolitan area. Founded in 1984, we are dedicated
to
continuing a tradition of quality in the entertainment business.
The Florida Project has successfully held many events over the years.
We have produced showcases and cabarets, hosted social gatherings, conducted
business forums, coordinated classes and workshops and sponsored playwriting
contests, all of which have enhanced the visibility of our group. Our
networking
continues to bring together and connect our members with this industry.
We are committed to maintaining a cohesiveness among all FSU, Asolo
and
BRITT graduates throughout the United States. Over the years, we have
established
chapters in Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles and at each of our schools
as well
as our largest chapter, New York City. We help keep our members in touch
with those presently in the performing arts community.
The support of our members is what gives us our strength. It is what
has been
the driving force behind all our endeavors.
