FP is dreamed
up in Chloe Dart's pad (aka Carole Healey's pad) with
Marc Ashmore, David
Munnell & Alan Pratt. The first Networking Party
Information Gathering Mission begins and a database is started with
a wish-lest
for FP. Our first logo, along with business cards & Letterhead,
is developed by
Andrew Watts.
1986/1987
A Showcase of Original Works by FP
Playwrights with FP actors at The Sanford Meisner.
Authors featured: Allan Ball, Robin Swicord &
Le Wilhelm. Newsletters begin. The Florida
Gang Goes Coconuts with the new production of Spring Break. Featured
writers:
Chuck Ferrero, Alan Pratt and Allan Ball. Dues institued at $10!
1988
GRADS Chip Chalmers, Ritch Brinkley,
Melissa Aggeles, Jody Keilbasa,
Vince Williams (deceased), Henry Polic II, Marc Ashmore, Debbie McLeod
&
John D'Aquino talk to students at FSU SOT's
Premiere '88. Four Mondays in May
established to promote new plays by FP writers.
1989/1990
The Third Annual Showcase called For
Love or Money is a success. Four Mondays
in May continues promoting authors like Matt Cutugno
& Chuck Ferrero.
The Florida Project Theatre Connection is born at The Tamarind Theatre
with
Jody Kilebasa. And the parties continue- The 6th Annual Networking
Party and our 4th Annual Showcase. Our first Brochure with FP goals
and promises is developed.
1991-1992
We are up to the 7th Annual Party and
5th Annual Showcase and this year it became
a benefit for Broadway Cares- A Cabaret Benefit by FP performed at The
Duplex.
Not only did we continue our Annual Parties and show, but we also produced
a staged
reading of Senesence by Lan Mairs. Featured
writers during this awesome production
were Matt Cutugno, Jenni Lickson, Rebecca Nice,
and the team of Christopher Durang
and Wade Kirby.
1993
The Ninth Party of FP was held on someone's roof...people may have
arrived via
helicopter..or was that just on the flyer? Laurie
Hill starring DeLane Matthews regrettably
went off the air.
1994-1995
The FP
Hotline is established. Another logo is designed.
Two Ships Renovated featured
writings of Eric Hissom & Keith Tralins.
Member information forms are created. We
develop another logo as the organization grows.
1996/1997
Our current
design is created and all FP materials upgraded. Open Studios catch
on as Movemetn Madness, Monologue Workshops & Musical Theatre classes
hone members'
skills. An Entertainment Business Forum is held at MTW with Jimmy
Bohr, Billy Serow,
Robb Pruitt, Mari Lyn Henry, Becky Watson, Ivan Ingermann and Dan Markley.
Our 13th Annual Party is held.
1998
We created
www.floridaproject.org. SOT turns 25! Postcards
get started and catch
on monthly. Staged readings of Go Go: A Tale of Modern Tribes and Lady
O. Alumni Cabaretand Picnics, Kick Off Classic, Elections, a new friendship
with FSU AA.
FP gets interviewed for the Florida State Times.
1999
LA &
NYC readings of Lady O. An Advisory Board
and a Board of Emeritus
are set up. Our Season Prelude starts with Say
Goodnight Gracie. We attent
the Leadership Conferenceat FSU, and The Voice of the Prairie kicks
off the season.
LA Networking Social is a success and the Fall NY Networking Party has
Dean Fallon, Robert Anderson, Brant Pope, Bruce
Halverson and Joanna Dolloff
come to NY for a visit.
2000
Readings
of Lady O, The Letter and Perfect Metaphor ('99).
Second-ever elections
for FP. Productions of Sand Mountain and Robin Swicord's play
"Last Days of the Dixie Girl Cafe."
More fundraising than ever becomes part of the
FP's strategy for producing. We hold our 15th Annual Networking Party
honoring the fabulous four who founded FP.
2001
Establishment of The Florida
Project in LA. LA Hotline and PO Box are set up.
A Welcome Brunch at The Tamring results in the LA Original Play Reading
Series.
Member services double as they include LA. Readings showcase the theatrical
writings
of Lisa Soland, David Caudle and Mark Simon,
and the screenplay talents of
Donna Wheeler and Robert Fedor. The first Annual LA Networking
Party is held
in March . Upcoming workshops, industry panels, karake night and more
readings are scheduled for Spring and Summer in LA. FP Members Nicole
Golden and
Rachel Fowler produce Cloud 9 under FP's non-profit status: Anne
Levy
and Bryan Brendle do the same with The House of Yes. The LA Chapter
produces Around the World in 3 Plays showcasing
our writers and performers at
The Tamarind in June.
2002
