| Richard
Falklen, Chairman 1991 - 1994 |
I remember sitting on an airplane with Robb Pruitt in 1990 returning
to New York
from Tallahassee We talked about my upcoming chairmanship and Robb reminded
me of how hard an act he is to follow. Soon after, I took my best shot,
and with the
help of many dear friends, four years as Chairman passed very quickly.
During my
time behind the wheel, the Project achieved its tax-exempt not
for profit status. This wouldnt have been possible if Jeffrey
Hass hadnt been so diligent and kind with
his time, resources and wisdom. Also, we were able to fully implement
Robbs vision
of the Production Fund and start giving grants to members. This was
quickly followed
by a vigorous fund raising campaign. The annual Showcase continued with
good
participation and great industry response, and we all contributed to
keep building and
shaping the project into the best organization we knew how. I cant
say I did anything
on my own, but it was with the help of the entire Board, the members
and everyone
who cared. My thanks to everyone who was involved back then, especially
those who served on the Board with me, and to all those today who carry
the Projects vision and purpose forward.
Currently, Richard Falklen resides in Nashville, TN and is an independent
broker and consultant to songwriters wishing to sell the publishing
interest of their copyrights.
